Spiritual LovefareKnowing Where You Stand |
Do you have an opinion about the role of religion in the world? How about immigration? Do you think we should provide social welfare services to those who don’t have jobs … or are disabled … or …?
I was probably in 8th or 9th grade when Sr. Mary Charles was talking about the importance of taking a stand. She was saying we couldn’t be fence sitters. We needed to choose. In the book of Revelation in the Christian scriptures, it is said, “Since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot or cold, I will spit you from my mouth.”
Part of Sr. Mary Charles’ discussion involved the necessity of deciding what you believe in no matter who agreed or disagreed. She challenged each of us to make a choice. Don’t be wishy-washy and go from one belief to the other depending upon what was popular at the time. Only change if you had good solid reason for doing so.
Knowing What you Believe Keeps You Grounded
When you work in the spiritual arena in the field of Spiritual Lovefare you assist in rejoining the dark to the light. (Spiritual Lovefare is a different name for what has been known as “Spiritual Warfare.”) Working in this arena involves knowing what forms darkness takes, be it in words, actions, thoughts or dark beings as well as accepting that all is from the Light and may return to the Light.
This is similar to St. Augustine’s statement paraphrased as “hate the sin but love the sinner.” My interpretation of that statement is that you have unconditional positive regard for someone no matter what his or her actions. You cannot assist someone in rejoining the Light if you do not have respect for them.
A practitioner of Spiritual Lovefare, you may be working in the midst of low vibration energy, such as prisons, in order to assist in transmuting it to love. Each member needs to know what is light and what is dark. Each person needs to know what his or her values are and where those values are violated. If you do not have a firm grasp of right and wrong, light and dark, you will be buffeted about and be practically useless in raising the vibration of the planet.
The Power of the Group Consciousness
One reason for a team of people working to the same end is mutual support as well as reminding each other what their mission is. Someone needs to have the strength and courage to say, “No, I will not gossip. Yes, I will speak the truth about myself and others from a place of love.” You cannot do this unless you know what your beliefs are and how valuable they are to you.
It requires courage to take a stand for or against something, especially if others are willing to call you names and further demean you for your view. Do you have the courage of your convictions? Are you willing to work with others to bring healing by knowing and declaring your truth, and allow others to do the same?
